WHY EURASIAN INTERGRATION?

Eurasian integration within the Eurasian Economic Union (the EAEU) has become one of the main factors in socio-economic and political development of Russia and its other members. However, all the stakeholders of Eurasian integration lack professionals who could deal with the new economic and legal framework established by Eurasian integration. MA in Eurasian Integration is one of the first Master’s programmes launched to meet this staff shortage.

MA in Eurasian Integration is a programme aimed at training skilled staff (managers, experts, analysts, researchers) for the Eurasian Economic Union institutions as well as for a wide range of governmental bodies, business and nonprofit organizations involved in Eurasian integration.

Program options

The core courses of the program are complemented with a wide range of elective courses devoted to every member of the Union and their policy towards Eurasian integration as well as the relations between the Eurasian Economic Union and the rest of the world:

  • Social and Political Development of EAEU Member States
  • Economic Development and Economic Relations of EAEU Member States
  • Foreign Policy of EAEU Member States
  • EAEU Member States and the Eurasian Economic Union
  • Social and Political Development of Russia
  • Relations between Russia and other EAEU Member States
  • China, EAEU Southern Neighbours and Eurasian Integration
  • Western Countries and Eurasian integration

The second part of the program includes practical training and seminars aimed at teaching students’ project management and analytical skills:

  • Research seminars
  • Foreign economic activities within the Eurasian Economic Union (practical training)
  • Relations of Russian regions with the regions of EAEU member states (practical training)

Double Master’s Degree in Eurasian Integration

We offer a double degree in Eurasian Integration implemented together with L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan), J. Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University (Kyrgyzstan), K. Dikambayev Diplomatic Academy of Kyrgyzstan Foreign Affairs Ministry (Kyrgyzstan).

The 2-year Double Master Degree programmes are organized in such a way that one academic year is taught at Tomsk State University and one academic year is taught at a partner university.

Selection of candidates is made in accordance with the entrance rules of each university. The applicants shall be proficient in Russian. Tuition policies are defined according to national regulations.

Those graduated with MA in Eurasian Integration may be employed by:

  • governmental departments in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia dealing with the Eurasian Economic Union in national ministries and agencies, e.g. presidential administration, foreign affairs ministry, prime-minister secretariat, customs service, migration service, trade, education or science department, etc.
  • departments of the Eurasian Economic Commission;
  • external trade and investment departments of EAEU members’ regional authorities;
  • business associations, chambers of commerce and industry, large and medium enterprises, etc.
  • international departments of mass media in EAEU members;
  • state bodies and trading companies of different countries developing integration and cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union (China, Vietnam, India, Singapore, South Korea, Serbia, Iran, etc.)
